SEMESTER ONE
August 6th-13th
Students will be creating portfolios, art room scavenger hunt and introductions
- Students will be discussing "What is Art?" and applying their knowledge in a discussion about what is art, who can create it.
- Students begin visual journals and insert vocabulary SLIDESHOW
August 26th-September 6th
- Students will be exploring the element of line. Visual journal prompts will include expressive line "Bad Hair Day" and contour line drawings. Projects will include a study of Keith Haring RUBRIC and a contour line drawing of hands RUBRIC.

- Students will be exploring contour line drawing. Journal prompts include "blind contour drawing".
Sept 16th-October 6th
- Students will draw the story of their life using symbolism and expressive line.

- Students will create a warm and cool color weaving and a warm and cool color writing piece.
